Upperthong village hall is a facility which is held in trust for the benefit of the villagers, and is managed by a small number of volunteers.

This site is here to keep the people of Upperthong in touch with their own community and village hall. We hope to include news and issues, upcoming events  and reviews.

If anyone in the village has news, views or information that would be good to put on the site, please get in touch through the contact page.

We are also looking for pictures of the hall in the past. If you have any we could share please get in touch. 

The Committee

The committee is made up of local residents who wish to see the hall maintained and used by as many different groups as possible. We meet monthly and our main aim is to raise funds to ensure the continuation and development of the hall.

We are always looking for new faces to come and help us run the hall and the events held in it. We often need bar staff too, so if you feel you would like to contribute to the Upperthong community please contact us through the above link and let us know!  This year, as well as voting in the members of the committee at the AGM, we have also set up a list of volunteers who do not wish to sit on the committee but who do want to help at events etc. Again, if you think you could become part of this team, please let us know

We do this in a number of ways. The hall is hired out to a number of local user groups, and is also available for private hire. we have been hosts to weddings, birthdays and christenings.

We also run a number of events ourselves during the the year, including music and themed events, plus the Christmas concert and the annual gala.
