Friday night was-

In response to feedback from last year we decided to host a theme night this year. Clearly feedback is totally unreliable as almost no-one decided to wear fancy dress!

However, turnout was good, as was the weather. Lots of people thought the band was the best for years and the night was a great success.

Saturday night was also a great evening. A new Gala Queen was crowned and Upperthong Has Talent ran for a second year. Only Mr Upperthong fell by the wayside due to sudden cloudbursts during the evening.

Amazingly we had our second sunny Sunday in a row and the village turned out in numbers. We has more to do and see than ever. The procession was the most impressive for years, thanks to Slaithwaite band.

There was the matter of the England v Germany match which dampened the mood a little, but despite the cynics, we did manage to get a decent picture and a good crowd stayed to watch.

Thank you to all those who helped plan and run the weekend (even Frank the fireman who apparently claims to run the whole weekend, even though we don't actually know who he is!!!!!!!!!) As always, we need as much help as we can get. Please let us know if you would like to be involved
