Junior and Infant School

Upperthong Junior and Infant School takes children aged 4 to 11 in 7 single aged classes. The school provides a high level of education to its 195 pupils with an above average overall score in the key stage 1 and 2 league tables.  The school is smaller than average and pupils have mixed social and ethic backgrounds.

The school has gained Activemark Gold for its work in sport, Artsmark, and the National Healthy Schools Award. The cirriculum is varied and has a strong focus on developing children rather than purely achieving government targets – evidenced by the school gaining an Investors in Pupils award. The school has very good relationships with parents and other community groups.
